Local Galleries

There are a number of local galleries to be found in the area around The Montcalm conference rooms in London, so why not use our facilities for your next meeting?


The Serpentine Gallery

Situated in Kensington Gardens, the Serpentine is one of London's most popular galleries of modern art.

The gallery includes a permanent display dedicated to Diana, Princess of Wales by Ian Hamilton Finlay. Meanwhile, a number of changing exhibitions are also on show throughout the year.


Halcyon Gallery

Specialising in contemporary works, but also exhibiting a number of Impressionist and Pop Art pieces, the Halcyon was established in 1982 and is a favourite destination for collectors from around the world.

As well as paintings, this gallery displays unique furnishings, sculpture, glasswork and photography, so there's sure to be something to suit the artistic preference of any art connoisseur.


Clarendon Fine Art Gallery

A contemporary space in the heart of Mayfair, the Clarendon features paintings from artists from around the world. Previous exhibitions have included works by Rolf Harris, Fabian Perez and Kim Donaldson

In addition, the gallery supplies works for display on the Cunard cruise line on ships such as the Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Victoria and the Queen Mary II.


Exhibition Centres

If you're visiting the capital to see an exhibition, The Montcalm 5-star hotel in London is centrally located for easy access to many of the top venues.


Central Hall Westminster

Located in a Grade II listed building a stone's throw from the Houses of Parliament, this is a grand central London venue.

Visitors are often amazed by the beautiful exterior and stunning entrance hall - and the event space is equally spectacular, with the Great Hall able to seat more than 2,000 people.


Olympia

Situated in West Kensington, the Olympia opened in 1886. Its main hall is 140 m long, 76 m wide and covered by an impressive glass and iron dome.

Today, the venue comprises three exhibition spaces and is the site of various annual events, including The National Wedding Show and Master Chef Live.


Business Design Centre Islington

Located in a stylish region of London, the BDC Islington is a massive venue spanning more than 20,000 sq ft.

The Grade II listed building was completed in 1861 and served a variety of purposes. During WWII, for instance, it was used as a sorting office.

In 1986, the building was converted for its current use. Today it is known for its lovely glass facade and is a popular choice for conventions focussed on design and fashion.


Museums

There are a number of museums to explore in London. If you're using The Montcalm's meeting venues, why not pay a visit to some of the exhibits?


The National Gallery

Located at Trafalgar Square and only a few steps from Charing Cross Station, The National Gallery is one of the UK's top art museums.

It was built in the 1830s and houses more than 2,300 works from Old Masters and British artists, as well as famous names like van Dyck, Rembrandt, Canaletto, Goya, Cezanne, Monte, Renoir and Caravaggio.


The Queen's Gallery

With a regularly changing collection of works on display, the Queen's Gallery is located at the west front of Buckingham Palace.

It was opened for the first time in 1962 to show items in the Royal Collection that were held "in trust for the nation".

During a visit to the gallery, you're likely to see a variety of paintings from around the world, as well as sculptures and furnishings.


The Tate Britain

Located in Millbank, this was the original premises of the Tate Collection before it expanded. The building was constructed in 1893 on the site of the old Millbank Prison.

The permanent collection includes British works by artists such as Blake, Constable, Waterhouse, Turner and Spencer. It is also the home of the annual Turner Prize exhibition.
