Families enjoying stays in central London hotels over the next week should consider buying tickets to a magical dance production.
Boing! is aimed at families with young children and is on at Sadler's Wells Lilian Baylis Studio until December 30th.
Travelling Light, which have been involved in children's theatre since 1984, are presenting the show that tells the tale of two brothers on Christmas Eve who cannot get to sleep because they are excitedly waiting for the arrival of Santa Claus. In order to entertain themselves as they wait for morning they turn their bed into a giant trampoline that allows them to dance around.
Boing! is directed by Sally Cookson with Wilkie Branson and Joel Daniel of Champloo Dance Company choreographing the action.
"It's a cleverly paced show, moving between elaborate sequences and simpler material," explained Zoe Anderson in a review for the Independent.
"Unable to sleep, the brothers kick around on the bed, stealing the duvet from each other or pushing their bottoms in the air, to the utter delight of every child in the theatre. Boing! is a fresh, friendly children’s show, entirely in tune with its audience."
The show lasts less than an hour so is perfect for younger children and tickets cost £7 for children and £30 for adults. There are also group discounts of 20 per cent available for parties consisting of eight or more people.
Sadler's Wells Lilian Baylis Studio is close to London Underground station Angel, which is on the Northern Line branch.
