An event that will appeal to music fans booking central London hotels will take place next month at a key London market.
The annual Independent Label Market will take place at Old Spitalfields Market on December 2nd and 3rd. The special event is expected to showcase a number of the UK's leading indie record labels and will be perfect for some pre-Christmas gift shopping.
There will be whole host of key indie record companies taking part in the market including Bella Union, One Little Indian, Soul Jazz, Rough Trade, Infectious, !K7, No Pain In Pop and Planet Mu.
Joe Daniel, co-founder of the Independent Label Market, explained to Complete Music Update that The Association of Independent Music (AIM) is also backing the 2012 market.
He added: "We are excited to start what we hope to be a long standing and fruitful relationship with AIM."
AIM's chief executive officer, Alison Wenham, said: "As AIM is the home of the world’s greatest indie labels, we are naturally delighted to be able to support the development of the Independent Label Market. We intend to do this in partnership with WIN, the Worldwide Independent Network, our global trade body."
As well as new records, the stalls at the market will also be selling catalogues and rare pressings. It is also expected there will be a number of exclusive releases for the event and appearances from artists over the course of the two days.
Old Spitalfields Market is one of the capital's most popular markets and is a short walk from a number of London Underground stations including Liverpool Street, Shoreditch High Street and Aldgate East.
