Discover the Adventures in Wonderland in London

We all know the story of Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into the magical, mysterious and sometimes terrifying Wonderland. From various film and television adaptations to stage productions, it is one of the best-loved stories, and this year Lewis Carroll’s creation is getting a brand new look.

Les Petits, the children’s division of famed theatre company Les Enfants Terribles, is heading to The Vaults beneath Waterloo station in London, with Adventures in Wonderland to celebrate the book’s 150th anniversary from April 10th to May 29th.

Co-produced with Emma Brunjes Productions, Adventures in Wonderland will be performed alongside Les Enfants Terribles’ adult production of Alice’s Adventures Underground from April 9th until May 31st.

With a script written by Oliver Lansley and Anthony Spargo, Adventures in Wonderland is directed by Emma Earle, and families who bring their little ones along can expect a stellar performance which pairs the artistic with the technical, showing exactly what Les Enfants Terribles does best.

Making this production an absolute must is the fact that the audience will have a chance to influence what happens, being given the opportunity to make choices in a bid to decide how the show will unravel.

Cheer on while your children get the chance to play croquet with the Queen of Hearts and be enthralled by the famous Mad Hatter’s tea party scene.

Talking ahead of Adventures in Wonderland, Emma Brunjes said: “From the outset of our production we wanted our Wonderland to be as inclusive as possible, so I’m thrilled we’ll be hosting two unique shows from the same incredible set, and offering children the opportunity to experience Wonderland themselves.”

A great escape at Imagine Children’s Festival

Imagining a world where kids take over may sound terrifying, but that is exactly what will be happening this month at the Southbank Centre.

Running from February 9th to 22nd, the Imagine Children's Festival will be putting your little ones in control as all their demands are transformed into reality. The whole site has been redecorated for children, by kids themselves, and there is an extensive programme of activities, family fun, dancing, theatre, art, books, workshops, seminars and talks.

Highlights to look out for include performances by Sir Simon Rattle, the Berliner Philharmoniker on February 15th, and the Big Sleepover. The last of these, in particular, is great fun, taking place on February 16th and allowing children and adults to stay overnight in the Royal Festival Hall auditorium.

In the 2015 Imagine Children's Festival, which will be sponsored by The Book People, there is sure to be something for your little ones, regardless of how fussy they are. The events have been designed to be both entertaining and informative, ensuring that everyone goes home happy. For more information on what is on, be sure to check out the official website.

You may want to make a real weekend of it with your family, so book into a London hotel as soon as possible. There are tonnes of attractions that your kids will enjoy in the capital city. Scare them senseless in the London Dungeons. Watch their eyes widen as they get to the top of the London Eye. Or take them to the West End, where they can sing with the Wicked Witch of the West or be astounded by The Lion King. Your options really are limitless.
