Cats set to return to London this Christmas

If you're into musical theatre then there's never a bad time to visit London, with the West End being rivalled only by New York's Broadway in terms of the number and quality of productions that can be enjoyed there. However, Christmas is always a particularly special time of year, with a whole load of extra shows being staged across the capital.

Whether you're looking for a great panto, a Shakespearian play or something a little more contemporary, you'll find no shortage of amazing shows in London during December, and this year is set to be a real bonanza, as it has just been announced that Cats will be returning to the West End for a limited period.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical has taken the world by storm since opening in both London and New York more than three decades ago. Aside from receiving rave reviews from critics and regular audience members alike, the show has also picked up several Olivier and Tony Awards, and been enjoyed by millions of people from around the world.

Since the end of its run in the capital several years ago, fans of the feline-themed spectacle have not had too much reason to feel glum, what with all the other amazing musicals to be seen across the West End, although many have yearned for the return of Cats – and now their wish has come true.

Indeed, Cats will open in early December at the London Palladium, running for a period of 12 weeks. Anyone interested in getting tickets to a performance is advised to act pretty fast though, as the shows are sure to be in very high demand.

The London Palladium is located just off Oxford Street, and is close to many of the capital's top restaurants, bars and shops, so spending an evening at the theatre around Christmas time is sure to make for a superb night out.

The venue is also within walking distance of the Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch.
