While there's never a bad moment to enjoy a bar of chocolate, this October is set to be a particularly exciting time for cocoa lovers, as National Chocolate week will be taking place, with plenty of fantastic events and activities being organised up and down the country to celebrate the delicious treat.
In particular, London will be getting into the spirit of things by hosting Salon du Chocolat – the world's largest chocolate-related event – from October 18th to 20th.
That means that for three whole days, visitors to Olympia National Hall in Kensington will be able to get a taste of some of the finest chocolate in the world while at the same time learning about its history and production, as well as take part in a number of other exciting activities.
Among these is the chance to see a unique fashion show, with models sporting clothes made out of chocolate, as part of a joint project between top fashion designers and chocolatiers.
A total of more than 60 participants from around the world will be exhibiting at Salon du Chocolat, with a fantastic mix of chefs, craftsmen and experts on hand to provide demonstrations and host tasting sessions.
Salon du Chocolat has traditionally always been held in France and has grown into the world's premier event for chocolate enthusiasts, and this year sees the show come to London for the first time.
Of course, with National Chocolate Week lasting from October 14th to 21st, there'll be lots more to do besides attending Salon du Chocolat, with many of the capital's top chocolatiers putting on special events and offering limited deals on their produce.
Anyone with a sweet tooth will find no shortage of wonderful shops selling nothing but chocolate, with the likes of Hotel Chocolat located close to Covent Garden and the famous Paul A Young – the closest thing you're likely to find to a real-life Willy Wonka – having several branches in the capital.
