Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of the Roald Dahl's most famous children's tales and it is set to be brought to life on stage in May.
Indeed, the Theatre Royal Drury Lane will play host to this wonderful new show for an extended period of time from May 18th.
Dahl's deliciously dark tale of young Charlie Bucket and the mysterious goings on of famous confectioner Mr Willy Wonka comes to life in a brand new musical directed by Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes.
The stage production will have everything you could think of, including the wonderful chocolate garden, an army of squirrels and the peculiar Oompa-Loompas.
Willy Wonka is the owner of the greatest chocolate factory in the world and he has decided to finally open the doors of his factory to five lucky children and one guest. The winners of the competition will be the ones who manage to find a golden ticket beneath the wrappers of his famous chocolate bars.
Everyone wants to be ones who are allowed into the factory and the search for the gold tickets is fast and furious. When the first four are found quickly, hope is lost with poor boy Charlie. However, the youngster and his grandpa Joe are sent on a spectacular adventure beyond their wildest dreams when Charlie pulls out the fifth and final ticket.
Despite the production starting in two months' time, tickets are still sure to be at a premium, so people will need to book stays in luxury suites in London sooner rather than later.
Admission will be available from as little as £29, with the most expensive seating costing £73.
The Theatre Royal Drury Lane is situated just a short walk away from the Covent Garden Tube stop, so getting into the city from your accommodation should provide few problems.
