With the summer in full swing, London is currently alive with music, thanks to the many amazing shows and concerts taking place throughout the city at the moment. Indeed, Canadian superstars Arcade Fire are currently in the middle of a run of shows at Hyde Park, following their headline slot at Glastonbury at the weekend (June 27th), while a number of superb festivals are set to take place in parks across London this month.
However, if you aren't going to be able to make it to any of these incredible summer shows then fear not, because there'll be plenty of amazing live music to enjoy in London later in the year too.
It's not that we want to bring people down by talking about winter in the middle of all this good weather that we're having, but if you cast your mind forwards to the chillier part of the year then you'll be able to start planning for some truly huge gigs.
For example, British rock band Kasabian – who also headlined at this year's Glastonbury Festival – are set to perform at the O2 Academy in Brixton from December 1st to 7th, with tickets going on sale today. The band first rose to fame with their self-titled album in 2004, which included hits like Club Foot and Processed Beats, and are currently basking in the glory of the success of their most recent offering, entitled 48:13.
If Kasabian aren't your thing, however, then there'll be loads of other great shows for you to choose from in London later this year. Fans of classic rock, for example, will surely want to jump at the chance to see The Who play live at the O2 Arena on December 17th.
Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend and co will be performing all of their biggest hits before what is sure to be a sell-out crowd, so be sure not to miss this one.
The O2 Arena can be easily reached from the Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch by travelling to North Greenwich tube station on the Jubilee Line.
