Famous author JK Rowling will be appearing at a special event to launch her latest novel and discuss her writing.
The Scottish writer of the famous Harry Potter books is hoping to break into the adult market with her latest offering The Casual Vacancy and is promoting the title at the Southbank Centre.
On September 27th, she will read a passage from the book before chatting to journalist and author Mark Lawson. Rowling will then take questions from the audience before signing books.
The event is being held at the Southbank’s Queen Elizabeth Hall from 7.30pm.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter fans staying in Montcalm London Hotels should consider visiting the Warner Bros Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter.
A new attraction that covers some 150,000 square feet, it is designed for fans of the popular Potter stories and includes a number of instantly recognisable sets such as the Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office, the Gryffindor common room and Hagrid’s hut.
There are also a wide range of costumes and props on show including Harry’s Nimbus 2000 and Hagrid’s motorcycle. Visitors can also find out more about the animatronics used to create creatures such as Buckbeak the Hippogriff, Fawkes the phoenix and the giant Basilisk head.
A new addition to the tour is the chance to walk on Hogwarts Bridge, which was actually used by cast members in the movies.
The Warner Bros studio is located in Watford, with frequent trains running from London Euston, so it is perfect for a family day out.
All tickets must be purchased in advance as they cannot be bought at the studio. Anyone under four is admitted free, while adult tickets cost £28 and children go in for £21.
