Design lovers and fashionistas staying in central London hotels will soon be flocking to the newly-opened Kate Spade New York in Chelsea.
The American fashion label opened its second London-based store in Symonds Street, with the original in Covent Garden.
Located in the small paved area on the side of Peter Jones cafe, which is fast becoming a luxury retail hub, with fashionable neighbours including Beatrix Ong, Cocomaya, Caramel Baby & Child, Heidi Klein and Ormonde Jayne.
"I think we have a unique sense of fun mixed with lady-like glamour," Deborah Lloyd, the British chief creative officer of Kate Spade New York told the Telegraph in advance of the London launch.
"We don't take ourselves too seriously and I think the Brits will appreciate that. We are also such a New York brand – so we'll bring a little bit of that spirit to London."
She explained that she was proud to be opening another branch in her home city, adding that it makes the "perfect homecoming" for her.
According to Time Out London, the store's launch night saw two authentic New York City yellow cabs turn up on its doorstep, while guests admired the brand's signature colourful clothing accessories.
"Utility, wit and playful sophistication are the hallmarks of Kate Spade New York," commented the fashion label.
"As our world expands, our graceful, exuberant approach to the everyday is evident in every category we enter, from handbags and clothing to jewellery, shoes, stationery, glasses, baby and home."
