Whenever you happen to visit London, taking a trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew is always a fantastic way to step into a different world, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and into an enchanted forest where nature's mysterious beauty is brought to life.
However, this is especially true in the run up to Christmas, with an extra special display having been put in place at Kew Gardens that is sure to leave visitors in awe.
The entire venue has been given a festive makeover, with dazzling Christmas lights and other decorations helping to create something of a wonderland, and the venue will be open after dark for the very first time this year, allowing guests to explore the wonders it contains by night.
To help make the experience extra special, an illuminated walking trail has been set up, with the lighting having been designed by several artists from around the UK. Walks will be taking place on selected days throughout the holiday season, beginning at 16.30 and ending at 22.00.
It's advisable to book tickets in advance, however, as there is a limited number of places available on each walk and they are expected to be highly popular.
The trail will take visitors through some of Kew's most stunning gardens, including the likes of the Garden of Fire and the Mediterranean Garden, while the venue's beautiful lake will also play a role in the display by acting as a mirror that reflects the dazzling lights and decorations as participants make their way through the darkness.
A number of Kew's other famous landmarks, such as Palm House, will be decked out in Christmas lights too.
As if all that wasn't enough, there will also be a Christmas market featuring Santa's grotto and a Victorian carousel, so there'll be plenty to keep the little ones entertained at Kew this festive season.
