Visitors to central London hotels looking to take in a bit of gourmet glitz and glamour have been pointed toward the capital's top luxury eateries by Visit London.
The city boasts a wide selection of gourmet shopping experiences for people to treat themselves to.
"London foodies take their passion seriously so you'll find some of the world's finest ingredients here, alongside a huge range of cookbooks and every kitchen gadget imaginable!" commented the local tourism group.
While most of London's top department stores boast impressive food halls, Fortnum & Mason is highlighted as being the only one with a royal appointment to stock the Queen's own larder.
Shoppers at the food hall will find the best caviar, cheeses, fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, poultry and meats, as well as a huge range of teas and spreads.
Wine lovers may want to pay a visit to Berry Bros & Rudd, which features an "old-world charm" and has been a favourite shop among drinkers since the 17th century.
"Rare bottles from Burgundy, Bordeaux and beyond are available, with the oldest plonk dating back to 1933," adds Visit London.
"If you're reluctant to shell out too much, don't fret – you can buy bottles off-licence style for around £10."
High-quality fresh fish and shellfish is offered up a James Knight of Mayfair, which has been accredited by the Organic Food Federation as all of its produce has been sustainably sourced.
The store also features some of the most highly trained staff as many of the former fish mongers have chef experience and provide guests with helpful tips and recipes.
