Anyone with even a passing interest in clothes will know that London is the global epicentre of the fashion industry, with all of the world's leading designer labels having flagship stores here, while the city has also produced many of the most famous innovators the rag trade has ever seen.
Because of this, there's never a bad time to visit the capital and explore its connections with fashion, whether by taking a trip to some of its most celebrated shops or attending one of the many fashion-related exhibitions that are held regularly in the city.
However, next week (February 14th to 18th) is set to be extra exciting, because that's when this year's edition of London Fashion Week will be taking place.
Arguably the world's leading fashion showcase event – alongside those that take place in New York, Milan and Paris – this is sure to be of interest to anyone who likes to remain abreast of the very latest styles and trends from around the globe, with all of the top players in the fashion game descending on London for the duration of the extravaganza.
Perhaps the best way to get in on the action is to head to 180 The Strand, which will be hosting the International Fashion Showcase from today (February 10th) until February 21st.
This is the only British Fashion Council-approved public event of the London Fashion Week celebrations, and will see more than 30 foreign embassies and cultural institutions put on exhibitions that showcase the emerging talent within their particular country.
So if you want to see what's hot and discover the very latest trends in some of the leading fashion nations – as well as some more unconventional ones – then this event is a must-see.
Representatives from the likes of Tanzania, Vietnam, Georgia and Pakistan will be displaying their latest creations alongside those from more established fashion nations, so this promises to be a truly fascinating exhibition.
