With all eyes currently on the World Cup in Brazil, football fever has gripped the planet, and if you haven't managed to get to South America for the main event and are craving some live footy then fear not, because the best league in the world will be returning very soon.
The new Premier League season is set to kick off on August 16th, and with no fewer than six London-based sides in the top flight for the 2014/15 campaign, there really is no better place than the capital for watching all the action.
For example, the opening day of the season will see a London derby take place, as Tottenham Hotspur travel across the capital to face West Ham. This will be new manager Mauricio Pochettino's first game in charge of Spurs, and as the fixture is something of a grudge match, it's sure to be an exciting affair.
Arsenal will also kick off their season on August 16th with a home fixture against fellow Londoners Crystal Palace, who surprised many people last term by comfortably avoiding relegation.
The game will take place at the Emirates Stadium, which is one of the top sporting venues in Europe, and with the Gunners still buzzing from their victory in the FA Cup final in May, the atmosphere around the ground is sure to be electric.
Alternatively, you could head to Stamford Bridge to see Jose Mourinho's Chelsea play their first home game on August 23rd, when newly-promoted Leicester City will be providing the opposition.
The Blues could give home debuts to new signings Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa that day, and being there to see the action live is bound to be a memorable experience.
All of London's main football stadiums are supported by fantastic transport links, making them easily accessible from the Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch.
