The heat will rise in February as the first of two London Fashion Weeks next year kicks off on the 17th with the Autumn/Winter 2012 event at Somerset House.
Then, after the excitement and physicality of the London games in the summer, London Fashion Week will add a bit off glamour and sex appeal to the capital in September between the 21st and the 26th.
These week-long events see fashionistas from across the globe descend on the capital to admire the latest and greatest catwalk creations from the top designers, shown off by a bevy of gorgeous men and women.
This year saw models strutting their stuff in garments by labels such as Mary Katrantzou, Aquascutum, Roksanda Ilincic, Shaun Samson, Christopher Shannon and Topman.
The proceedings in February will see McQ, a brand by Alexander McQueen, making its debut with a catwalk show.
Somerset House, home to the London Fashion Week since 2009, is easily reachable for anyone staying at one of the luxury hotels in London as it is within walking distance from Temple station on the District and Circle lines.
It is one of the most impressive buildings in London, with a fabulous courtyard that is home to an ice rink in the winter and 55 dancing fountains in the summer.
During show week, the Catwalk Show Space is located in the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court, while the rest of Somerset House hosts further presentations and the designer exhibition.
You can also indulge the shopper in you at London Fashion Weekend, which immediately follows the conclusion of the show, when designer brands will be selling ready-to-wear accessories and jewellery at up to 70 per cent off.
Your luxury accommodation in London will then provide the perfect setting in which to air your new outfits for the first time.
London Fashion Week is truly the best accessory to a luxury stay in the capital.
