One of the highlights of stays at luxury hotels in London is that it gives you a chance to explore one of the best cities for shopping anywhere in the world.
And now, visitors to the capital have a chance to check out an entirely new range from Victoria Beckham.
The new line, called simply Victoria, launched at Harvey Nichols’s famous Knightsbridge store earlier this month.
It is the former Spice Girl’s second full fashion range, following the launch of an eponymous line in 2008, which proved a big hit with critics and customers alike.
Harvey Nichols describes the new line as “the free-spirited sister brand to Victoria Beckham’s mainline label”.
The range “champions a fresh and flirty take on summer” added the department store.
“This new line serves to channel my inner girl – it is fun and young with a distinct sense of humour. The Victoria range can’t help but make you smile with its energy and personality,” commented Beckham at the launch of the line.
Victoria is being sold at lower prices than Beckham’s previous range – with dresses costing between £395 and £995 – but is being billed as its own standalone brand, rather than a diffusion.
“It’s not a second line, or a diffusion line – it’s another line, another side to my wardrobe,” Vogue magazine quotes the former pop star as saying last year when the new brand was first announced.
“This is a way to give my customers what they want. They are really easy-to-wear day dresses. You can wear everything with heels, but you can wear them with flats as well. And they fit a lot of different people. Nothing’s tight: everything’s quite comfortable and roomy.”
Last year saw London named the best city in Europe for shopping – beating the likes of Paris, Rome and Madrid to top the EIU’s Globe Shopper City Index.
