New winter wonderland show coming to London

From the end of November, the theatrical company Punchdrunk is presenting a special show aimed at young children, which aims to create a magical winter wonderland for them to explore.

Running until January 2013, the event is a great treat for families booking central London hotels over the festive period.

The House Where Winter Lives tells the story of two forest dwellers who are preparing for the arrival of the colder weather, when they discover they have lost a vital key. They require the help of the audience to find the missing item by embarking on a journey through a magical forest.

For the past four years, Punchdrunk Enrichment has been creating productions aimed at young children and their shows have proved popular with mums and dads as well.

The Discover Children's Story Centre in Stratford is hosting the new show, which lasts around 45 minutes so ideal for children aged between three and six and their older siblings.

"We are delighted to welcome Punchdrunk Enrichment to Discover, to create a fantastic immersive experience for very young children and their families," said Sally Goldsworthy, Discover's chief executive.

"Discover is an amazing place for families and young children to be inspired by storytelling," added Pete Higgin, enrichment director at Punchdrunk.

"Their dedication to interactive playing and learning fits in perfectly with our work at Punchdrunk Enrichment and we're extremely excited to be working with them."

Adult tickets for the production cost £8 each, while children's admission is £6 and the Discover Children's Story Centre is around a five minute walk from Stratford London Underground station, which is served by the Central and Jubilee Lines.
