One Direction take up permanent residence at Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds is home to many a famous face and just about every performer who can be considered part of music royalty, which is why it will come as little surprise that the biggest boy band in the world has now taken up permanent residence at the famous central London attraction.

One Direction, who recently caused a stir in Leicester Square by appearing at the premiere of their brand new film This Is Us, can now be seen in the capital on a daily basis thanks to the creation of five new waxwork statues of the boys themselves.

This comes following popular demand for the group to be installed at Madame Tussauds, with their original waxworks having left London to embark on a world tour, leaving One Direction fans in London with something of a hole that needed filling.

In order to appease fans, organisers at the world-famous venue have now added the celebrated quintet to their collection, with the clothes for the models having been donated by the band.

Sitting on a school-style double bench, the five singers can be seen in smart-casual attire, with Zayne decked out in a leather jacket and skinny jeans, Harry sporting a black t-shirt and grey wool jacket, Liam wearing denim, Niall dressed rocking the classic white t-shirt and black jeans combo, and Louis appearing in a black and grey t-shirt with skinny jeans and his trademark missing socks.

Madame Tussauds can be found next to Baker Street Tube Station on Marylebone Road and is just a stone’s throw from other top London sites such as the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Regent’s Park.

The popular attraction is open from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm on weekdays and from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on weekends and school holidays, and is home to a huge number of waxworks of the biggest celebrities on the planet, making it a must-see for anyone visiting London.
