Sci-fi fans will be descending on London en masse in late May as the Royal Albert Hall hosts the UK premiere of Star Trek Into Darkness – Live In Concert.
This unique stage show will appear at the iconic venue on May 30th and 31st 2014, bringing the soundtrack of JJ Abrams' blockbuster movie to life in front of the audience.
One of the most highly rated Star Trek films of recent times, Into Darkness – starring the likes of Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch and Zachary Quinto – sees Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise attempt to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction from a war-torn planet.
Achieving box office success across the world, it went on to become the highest grossing Star Trek film of all time.
The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will be performing Michael Giacchino's critically acclaimed original score for the motion picture, with Ludwig Wicki acting as conducter.
Completing the audiovisual splendour, the film Into Darkness will be shown simultaneously on the big screen in glorious high definition.
Tickets for the concert are on sale now, ranging in price from £17.80 to £52.99.
The production is part of an extensive tour that will see the Into Darkness soundtrack performed live by leading orchestras across the world, with the show set to appear across Europe, the US and Canada.
In a statement, the promoters explained: “The Royal Albert Hall will host the UK premiere of Star Trek Into Darkness – Live in Concert, celebrating the extraordinary collaboration between JJ Abrams' 2013 blockbuster hit and its soundtrack.”
Fans of the film heading to London to enjoy the concert should combine their visit with a stay at the luxurious Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch, which is located on the other side of Hyde Park from the Royal Albert Hall – meaning the journey will be almost as enjoyable as the show.
