All football fans will be aware of the fact that one of the biggest teams in Europe had somehow managed to go nine whole years without winning a single trophy, before bringing that long drought to an end in May by winning the FA Cup.
Now, hopes are high that Arsenal can follow up that success by adding more silverware to the trophy cabinet this season, and with a host of huge games coming up at the club's Emirates Stadium, now is a fantastic time for anyone who fancies seeing the team play to think about booking a trip to London.
The Gunners got their season off to a flying start yesterday (August 10th) by beating reigning Premier League champions Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield at Wembley, although the Citizens won't have to wait long for their shot at revenge, as the two sides are set to meet again in North London on September 13th. This time, though, there will be three vital Premiership points up for grabs.
Before that, however, Arsenal will have to deal with the small matter of qualifying for the Champions League – a competition which they have featured in every season since 1998. To do so, they will need to overcome Turkish side Besiktas in a two-legged play-off, with the second of these being at home on August 27th.
The big games are set to keep coming at Emirates Stadium throughout the early weeks of the campaign, with the club's arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur providing the opposition in the North London Derby on September 27th.
Emirates Stadium is easy to access from the Montcalm London Marble Arch, with several tube stations, including Holloway Road, Arsenal and Finsbury Park, all being located nearby.
Watching the Gunners play at home is sure to be a wonderful experience for all footy fans, and will provide a chance to see the club's new big-money signing Alexis Sanchez in action.
