London is a fantastic place to be if you’re a shopaholic at all times of year, although even the most obsessed retail fanatic probably wouldn’t dream of starting their Christmas shopping in August.
However, if you do fancy getting a head start on your festive gift buying then London’s West End is the place for you, as the world-famous Selfridges department store has already opened its amazing Christmas shop.
Located on the fourth floor of the iconic store, the North Pole-themed space is a true winter wonderland and has been decked out with more than 100,000 Christmas decorations, so it’s sure to get all visitors in the festive mood – even with more than four months to go until the big day.
Covering some 700 sq ft of space, it’s a real paradise for lovers of Christmas, so anyone who feels like experiencing something a little unusual this summer should certainly make sure they visit the legendary London flagship.
Founded in 1909, Selfridges is one of the most famous department stores on the planet and occupies an entire block on Oxford Street, making it a must-visit for all fans of retail therapy in London.
Speaking about the launch of the new Christmas shop, the store’s home and decorations buyer Gerladine James said: “Despite the summer weather, we’re in full festive mood here at Selfridges.”
She also revealed that the project has been in progress since Christmas last year, which gives some indication of just how much work has gone into making it as magical as possible.
Located between Duke Street and Orchard Street, Selfridges is within walking distance of the Montcalm London Marble Arch, not to mention a host of other top central London attractions, shops, restaurants and much more.
