Culture vultures staying in central London hotels after October 2nd may be interested in visiting the Southbank Centre for the Shell Classic International.
The Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra and other international classical stars will flock to London to perform in a variety of shows until June 26th, 2012.

This year’s Shell Classic International will also see the return of Gustavo Dudamel – the music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
The season of classical music kicks off with a performance by avant-garde figurehead Pierre Boulez.
Mr Boulez, a musical giant and author of some of the key works in musical modernism, makes his return to the Royal Festival Hall for a rare concert as composer and conductor on October 2nd.
He will perform with the esteemed Ensemble Intercontemporain, which Mr Boulez founded in the 1970s, and features soprano Barbara Hannigan.
This will be followed up by performances by Claudio Abbado and the Lucerene Festival Orchestra on October 10th and 11th.
Tognetti and the Australian Chamber Orchestra will take to the stage on November 29th, while Ivan Fischer will entertain audiences alongside the Budapest Festival Orchestra on March 4th.
Daniel Barenboim and Staatskapelle Berlin are set to deliver shows on April 16th, 17th and 20th.
May 25th and 26th will see the musical stylings of Spira Mirabilis, while Gustavo Dudamel and the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela will bring the series to a close on June 23rd and 26th.
