Stars plan 24 hour musical event

A number of stars are set to be involved in a special 24 hour gala taking place next month.

Star of Jurrassic Park and the Fly Jeff Goldblum will be leading a cast of several big names on December 9th at a charity event at London’s Old Vic Theatre.

Running for the past eight years, the special gala sees actors, writers and directors come together for one day to create four new productions to help raise money for The Old Vic Theatre Trust.

In honour of the central London venue’s decision to host the musical Kiss Me, Kate over the festive period, this year’s gala, for the first time, will involve creating musicals from scratch to then be performed in front of an audience on December 9th.

Goldblum has appeared at the Old Vic theatre before in 2010 in a production of The Prisoner of Second Avenue but this time is singing and dancing skills will be put to the test.

Other theatre names expected to take part in the special gala include Tracie Bennett, Rosalie Craig, Richard Fleeshman, Freddie Fox, Haydn Gwynne, Anthony Head, Laura Michelle Kelly, Colin Morgan, Con O’Neill, Julian Ovenden, Nigel Planer, Amy Nuttall, Jemima Rooper and Sharon Small.

The gala night will be hosted by comedian Matt Lucas and The Old Vic Theatre’s artistic director Kevin Spacey will introduce the show.

Tickets are available now and anyone staying in central London hotels planning to go is being advised to book as soon as possible before all the seats sell out.  There are also a number of VIP packages available that include access to a special after show party.
