Alternative places to watch Wimbledon in London
The Wimbledon tennis championships will soon be returning to London, and the whole of the UK will of course be hoping and praying that Andy Murray can repeat his heroics of last year by retaining his title.
However, as everyone knows, getting into the All England Club to watch the action live is much easier said than done, and while those who do decide to go to the effort of arriving early and queuing in order to gain access certainly won't regret it, anyone who would rather avoid the hassle will find loads of other excellent places to watch the tournament in London.
From June 23rd to July 6th, the entire city will be gripped with tennis fever, and the atmosphere throughout the capital is sure to be as electrifying as it is at this time every year.
So, you don't have to be there at Centre Court to take part in this annual celebration of tennis.
You could, for instance, head to Wembley Park, where an enormous 30-metre screen will be in place for the duration of the tournament, showing all of the action. Located in the shadow of Wembley Stadium itself, this really is holy ground when it comes to British sport, and is a fantastic place to be whenever an athlete from the UK achieves glory.
There will, naturally, be plenty of strawberries and cream on offer in Wembley Park when the tennis is on, making this a great alternative to SW19 itself.
What's more, with Wembley Park tube station being serviced by both the Metropolitan and Jubilee Lines, it's quick and easy to get to from the Montcalm Hotel Marble Arch, so you needn't worry too much about getting around.
Alternatively, you could head down to the South Bank, where there's always a great atmosphere during the summer, and watch the tennis on the big screen at the Scoop.
Located close to Tower Bridge and just next to the Mayor's Office, the Scoop will be screening all the action from Wimbledon as part of the More London Free Festival.
