England look ahead to World Cup warm-up matches
With the World Cup now less than six months away, the England football team is beginning to look ahead to the tournament, and if you'd like to get yourself in the mood for the main event then why not travel to Wembley to cheer the side on in one of their upcoming friendly matches.
Manager Roy Hodgson will be keen to use these fixtures to finalise his squad selection, with just 23 spaces available on the plane to Brazil.
As such, you can be sure that all the players involved in the matches will be eager to put in a good performance in order to force their way into the boss's plans.
The first of these warm-up matches will be taking place on March 5th, when Denmark will provide the opposition. With the likes of Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen and Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner in the Danish squad, this is sure to be an exciting match, and one that will provide a stern test for the national side.
Following that, England will take on Peru at Wembley on May 30th, with this being the last match that the team are scheduled to play before heading off to the US to continue their preparation with friendly matches against Honduras and Ecuador.
Speaking about the upcoming matches, Hodgson commented: "I'm delighted with the games we have been able to secure and the programme running up to the World Cup in general.
"I was clear to those responsible at the FA that I was looking for Central and South American opposition ahead of the tournament and that is exactly what has been delivered."
If you'd like to be at Wembley to see the team play against either Denmark or Peru then keep an eye on the FA's website for ticket details.
