Last chance to see Press Photographer's Year at the National Theatre
The Press Photographer's Year has in seven years become one of the most prestigious photography prizes in the world.
Designed by press photographers, it aims to showcase the very best images taken for and used by UK news media.
For couples enjoying a break in a luxury London hotel, it is an exhibition that will give them a window into what is happening in all four corners of the globe and showcase the remarkable talents of photographers from around the world.
The winning entry for the 2013 competition is Adrian Dennis' snap of Thailand's Nina Lamsan competing in the cross country phase of the eventing competition at the 2012 Olympics.
It makes brilliant use of natural light to capture the rider and the spectators watching her.
As well as Dennis' photograph, guests at luxury London hotels can take in a wealth of other images.
Over 390 photographers submitted more than 12,500 pictures and the judges have completed the unenviable task of whittling them down to just 150, which make up the exhibition.
These images reflect the variety and standard of the entries, which are described as extraordinary by the event organisers.
In total, 18 prizes have been awarded by the judges, so visitors staying at luxury London hotels can look forward to a rich and varied display.
The exhibition is open from Monday to Saturday between 09:30 GMT and 23:00 at the National Theatre on London's South Bank.
However, the showcase will close its doors on August 31st, so time is running out for photography lovers to take in this one-of-a-kind display.
For those who have never had the pleasure of visiting the National Theatre, getting there is relatively straightforward, with easy access from the Waterloo, Southwark and Embankment underground stations.
In addition, there are plenty of buses that go to the South Bank, so if you intend to take in other attractions on the same day, getting to the theatre should still be hassle free.
