Orient-Express hosts 1920s-themed party
Visitors to luxury London hotels looking for a unique spot to get a four-course meal and enjoy an array of fine wines may be interested in the Orient-Express' 1920s themed dinner party.
With an interior decor to match the decadence and glamour of the era, the classic British Pullman train plays host to the opulent party.
"Enjoy a champagne aperitif, piquant canapes and a tasting menu matched with our choice of wine, all served in opulent surroundings. The most exclusive place to dine in London," commented the organisers.
The dinner departs from London Victoria where visitors are given a glass of chilled champagne and a chance to meet fellow guests.
Diners are then shown to their seats in the Restaurant Car where they are presented with meals prepared by expert chefs from the finest ingredients.
"A variety of dishes are combined to create a gourmet tasting menu, designed to stimulate both the appetite and the taste buds," commented the group. "Each course is perfectly complemented by our sommelier's choice of fine wines."
The 1920s-themed evening is a one-off event taking place on October 27th, costing £350 per person.
On top of a seasonal gourmet menu, riders are offered a complementary choice of sommelier's choice of fine wines, champagne and liqueur.
The organisers enthused: "Re-live the glamour and romance of the 1920s with a themed dinner. We encourage you to dress up for the occasion in 1920's style, then settle in to your sumptuous armchair and allow yourself to be transported back to a more gracious age."
