See the world’s best tennis stars at the O2 this autumn
Tennis fans still revelling in the glory of Andy Murray’s long-awaited triumph at Wimbledon earlier this year may be interested to hear that the sport’s elite competitors will be returning to London for what is sure to be one of the most exciting events of the season.
From November 4th to 17th, the world’s top eight male singles players will be present at the O2 for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, the season-ending tournament that has grown considerably in popularity over the past few years.
Andy Murray himself - who is currently ranked third in the ATP World Rankings - has already qualified for the competition, so fans who didn’t get a chance to see him in action at Wimbledon will have another opportunity to do so.
And after going out in the quarter-finals at the US Open last month, the Scot will surely be determined to put that particular disappointment to bed by beating the world’s best in London.
Also already qualified for the event are world number one Rafael Nadal and number two Novak Djokovic - who recently battled it out in the final of the US Open, with Nadal emerging victorious.
Having missed Wimbledon through injury, the Spaniard has returned to the court in blistering form, and with two Grand Slams to his name this year will be feeling confident of victory at the O2.
Other big names likely to make it into the top eight include David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych, Juan Martin Del Potro and the legendary Roger Federer.
Currently sitting seventh in the rankings, the Swiss player has previously won this event six times and remains one of the most exciting competitors on the circuit.
Stanislas Wawrinka, who knocked Murray out of the US Open and is currently in the form of his life, could also be present at the ATP World Tour Finals.
