Tickets to see Chelsea in the Champions League now on general sale

13th September 2013

Of all the reasons to visit London, football ranks pretty highly among a large number of tourists, with the capital being home to some of the most famous clubs on the planet.

The down side to this is that it means there's an awful lot of competition for tickets, with so many people trying to get access to matches - particularly the more important ones.

However, an exciting opportunity has arisen for football fans thinking of travelling to London in the near future, after Chelsea FC announced that tickets for the club's opening Champions League Match of the season have now gone on general sale.

Although most European matches tend to sell out before they even become available to the general public - with participants in the club's membership scheme being offered first dibs and normally snapping up all the seats - the match against Swiss side FC Basel at Stamford Bridge on September 18th does have some tickets available to non-members.

What's more, these are being offered at the reduced price of just £35 for adults and £17.50 for concessions, so there really has never been a better chance to get a piece of the action at the Bridge.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this particular match - which sees the 2012 champions begin their trail for glory following a disappointing early exit last season - is that it will be manager Jose Mourinho's first Champions League match since returning to the club after a six-year absence in the summer.

Having won every trophy with Chelsea apart from Europe's most prestigious competition during his previous tenure, expectations are high that he will lead the team to glory this time around, and anyone who gets their hands on a ticket for this match will be able to say they were there when it all started.

Stamford Bridge is located just a short walk from Fulham Broadway tube station, which is on the District Line and can be reached very easily from all central London hotels and attractions.
