Try your hand at star-spotting in London this month
If you're the sort of person who likes to collect autographs or photos of celebrities, or who simply enjoys spotting famous faces in public and living with the satisfaction of knowing that you've been hanging out in the same spts as the stars, then London is the perfect place to be this month.
That's because Hollywood's elite will be descending on the capital for the BFI London Film Festival, which kicked off yesterday (October 9th) and will be running for the next ten days.
Of course, the best way to rub shoulders with the stars is to get a ticket to one of the many screenings, talks, master classes and other events that will be staged as part of the festival, although if you don't manage to do so there are still plenty of places around town where you're likely to spot some of your favourite actors, directors and other celebs.
Naturally, many of the biggest names in show business will be staying in the high-class hotels that can be found in areas such as Mayfair, with Park Lane being particularly popular among movie stars - that's because a number of hotels here, including the likes of The Dorchester, regularly hold press conferences to publicise the latest film releases.
Away from the hotels, this part of town is also synonymous with high-class shops, so if you want to mingle with the great and the good then taking a trip to some of the luxury boutiques and other fashion stores in Mayfair is the best way to go about it.
Elsewhere, Camden is always popular with celebrities, with the area being seen as something of a spiritual homeland for rock and roll music, so it's always likely you'll spot someone you recognise wandering around the Stables Market or the Camden Lock.
South Kensington and Knightsbridge are equally good places to do a bit of star spotting.
