Udderbelly set for return to the South Bank

9th April 2014

London is always a fantastic place to be in the summertime, with so many pop-venues and improvised events taking place across the capital.

Among the most popular of these is Udderbelly, which is a temporary building in the shape of a giant upside-down purple cow.

Located on the South Bank, Udderbelly has become a fixture in the capital over recent summers, having appeared for several months each year before heading north to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

The venue is known for hosting some incredibly exciting events, and with its return to the South Bank tomorrow (April 10th), now's the time to start thinking about taking a trip to the capital.

Running until July 13th, Udderbelly will be hosting a range of incredible performances, with several big names set to appear at the famous pop-up venue over the coming months.

Among these is Irish comedian Ed Byrne - who some people may recognise from popular television panel shows like Mock the Week. The award-winning comic will be performing his stand-up latest routine, entitled Roaring Forties, which sees him coming to terms with the fact that he is now middle-aged.

Also appearing at Udderbelly this year will be Omid Djalili, Britain's best-loved comedian of Iranian descent, who has featured in blockbuster movies such as Gladiator as well as starring in his own self-titled TV programme, The Omid Djalili Show.

Other big names set to take to the stage at the temporary site over its three-month residency on the South Bank include the likes of Marcus Brigstocke, Mark Dolan and Zoe Lyons, while the English Comedian of the Year Grand Final will also be held there on July 7th.

Situated in Jubilee Gardens, close to Waterloo and Westminster tube stations, Uderbelly is within walking distance of a number of other top London attractions - including the likes of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament - and is also easily accessible from the Montcalm Hotel.
