Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition now on at the Natural History Museum

30th October 2013

London's Natural History Museum is widely regarded to be one of the world's premier exhibition spaces, featuring an iconic central hall where visitors are immediately greeted with an enormous Diplodocus skeleton.

As well as offering a wonderful permanent collection, which is free to look around and includes a huge number of fascinating items such as a life-size model of a blue whale, the museum also puts on a number of temporary displays each year, with the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition being among the annual highlights.

Now in its 49h year, the competition attracts thousands of entries from all over the world, with a panel of expert judges sifting through the submissions and choosing the very best ones to go on display at the museum.

Visitors can therefore be sure of seeing some pretty spectacular images, with the 18 category winners and runners up, as well as those being deemed worthy of special commendation being included in the exhibition.

Widely considered to be the number one global showcase of nature photography, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year collection is an absolute must-see for anyone with an interest in the natural world or the art of photography itself.

The Natural History Museum can be found on Cromwell Road, and is just a stone's throw from two of London's other most popular visitor attractions – the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

All three of these great exhibition centres can be reached by taking the Piccadilly Line to South Kensington tube station.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit will be running until March 23rd 2014, with tickets available for £10 per adult, or £12 should visitors wish to add a £2 Gift Aid donation onto their entry fee.

Seeing the winning shots might even inspire you to pick up a camera yourself and enter next year's competition.
