London Art Fair celebrates quarter century
One of the most popular art sales in London will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
Starting on January 16th, the five-day event brings together some of the world's top galleries to showcase the very best of the art world.
The London Art Fair will be held at the Business Design Centre in Islington and is perfect for art fans staying in central London hotels next month.
As well as 100 galleries from around the world taking part in the main fair, there is also a smaller Art Projects event that will include offerings from around 30 smaller and emerging galleries and could provide the chance to obtain a unique piece of art.
Visitors are advised to book tickets for the London Art Fair in advance at a discounted price of £12 including a copy of the vital show guide. Anyone leaving admission to on the day will have to pay £16 and risk being turned away if the fair is full.
Last year, more than 25,000 people attended the show and sales showed a continued interest in art buying despite the gloomy economic climate.
"We are delighted to have had so many visitors to our most successful London Art Fair to-date," explained Jonathan Burton, director of the London Art Fair.
This year's fair is set to be even bigger with a list of talks and discussions on all aspects of art. There is also the chance to take a guided talk around the fair with an expert to answer any questions or give advice.
The Business Design Centre in Islington is close to the London Underground station of Angel and is also close to Kings Cross and Euston.
