London ideal for Valentine's Day
Romantic London getaways could be the perfect Valentine's Day present for loved-up couples this year.
With the big day just around the corner, the capital offers a whole host of romantic experiences.
Many of London's key attractions are embracing Valentine's and putting on special events for the day.
Kensington Palace will be hosting a pop-up film event and showing a number of romantic movies, as well as offering an exclusive early morning tour to learn more about Queen Victoria's story of love and loss. The tour will start at 9am and tickets cost £20 each.
Other options include a trip to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich for a great experience. Costing £96 per couple, visitors will be granted rare access to the museum's Caird Library to see a number of romantic letters written by lovers separated by the sea.
This is then followed by a three-course meal, with accompanying music performed by members of Trinity College of Music in the 16 Seconds West Brassiere.
The London borough of Greenwich offers a great day out for visitors staying in the capital and there are a number of leading attractions within working distance of the DLR Station Cutty Sark. Tourists can enjoy the world famous Cutty Sark tea clipper, the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory and Planetarium.
The Observatory is the home of the Greenwich Meridian Line, the centre of world time, and visitors can even cross the line used to set all international time zones. The popular museum also displays some of the country's most important marine timekeepers as well as a number of early clocks that were used to establish the Greenwich standard for time.
