Celebrate Prince Harry's birthday with a trip to London's royal attractions

16th September 2013

It's been a busy time for the Royal Family lately, with the birthdays coming thick and fast. Still celebrating the arrival of the latest arrival Prince George, uncle Harry currently has yet another reason to be cheerful after turning 29 years of age yesterday (September 15th).

This makes it a perfect time for anyone planning a visit to London to check out some of the city's royal attractions, and with the British monarchy very much in fashion across the world at the moment there's never been a better time to experience life like a royal.

A great place start is Kensington Palace, home to the elegant King's and Queen's State Apartments and decorated with a number of beautiful paintings from the Royal Collection. A special exhibition can also be found in the bedroom that once belonged to Queen Victoria when she was a child, while a second display entitled Modern Royals was also launched earlier this year, highlighting the role of the monarchy in the 20th century.

Located at the western edge of Hyde Park, Kensington Palace is flanked by the stunning Kensington Gardens and is also just a short walk from many of the capital's top museums - including the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Elsewhere, the Tower of London is one of London's most historic sites and is a fantastic place to visit. Beefeater tours of this fascinating landmark are always great fun for the whole family, while the chance to see the Crown jewels on display is something that never fails to impress.

Reachable from Tower Hill tube station on the Circle and District Lines, the Tower of London is also just a stone's throw from Tower Bridge, which itself is one of the capital's most iconic landmarks and is well worth a visit.
