Combine food with a river cruise
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is overseeing a new experience for visitors staying in romantic central London hotels.
Jamie Oliver's Fabulous Feasts is offering the chance to enjoy lunch, afternoon tea or dinner on a special cruise down the River Thames.
All of the food will be served on one of the river's most luxurious vessels, the Silver Sturgeon and is a great way to discover the city.
"We can't wait to host you and your family, friends or colleagues on the Thames. We’ll be using loads of great British produce and taking inspiration from around the world for our exciting dishes. This is about using great food and service to create a relaxed atmosphere, so you can sit back and enjoy the food as you take in the scenery along the River Thames," explained the TV chef.
The tour starts at the Savoy Pier close to Embankment London underground station and there is a selection of starters, mains and desserts to choose from. The luxury boat will pass by some of London's most famous landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and Tower Bridge before returning to the Savoy Pier.
There is also live music to accompany the dining experience. If joining a lunch cruise, there will be a pianist, while evening diners will be entertained by a jazz trio.
Another great experience for romantic getaways is a trip on the London Eye on the South Bank. It remains one of the capital's most popular attractions and welcomes around 3.75 million people each year to its 32 capsules. Each trip around the wheel takes 30 minutes, travelling at 26 centimetres per second and allows people to see around 40km on a clear day.
