Joanna Lumley plans Ab Fab auction in London
One of the starts of the BBC comedy Absolutely Fabulous is planning a special auction to sell-off a number of outfits worn by Patsy on screen.
Tomorrow (November 13th) will see Joanna Lumley hold an auction to see around 50 lots of clothing and accessories to help raise money for the Prince's Trust.
Those staying in central London hotels will have a chance to bid for some Patsy classics such as a pinstriped jacket by Dolce & Gabbana, an Alexander McQueen vest, a Joseph spotty top and faux leather skirt and a Costume National pair of houndstooth print trousers.
"I'm giving up some of my greatest treasures and happiest memories," Lumley said.
"I'm so thrilled to think that the proceeds will all go to benefit young people through one of my all-time favourite charities - The Prince's Trust. I love each item and each garment with a passion."
In addition to the clothes worn by the popular chain-smoking and champagne-drinking Patsy, the auction will also include some of Lumley's own outfits such as the Betty Jackson suit she wore to the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles and a pink Chanel suit she wore when lobbying for the Gurkhas at the Palace of Westminster.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Lumley revealed that she enjoyed the clothes worn by Patsy during the popular series.
"Patsy dressed exactly as a fashion editor would: the perfect Chanel jacket no one else has got," explained the actress.
"She dressed immaculately most of the time, in lovely neutrals - she always looked elegant."
The sell-off will take place at the Kerry Taylor Auctions in London and tickets for the event cost £20 for entry for two people.
