London's newest sporting hero finding city's attractions difficult to resist
The appeal of London's many attractions is felt by people of all colours and creeds, and even global superstars find it difficult to resist the many cultural activities on offer throughout the capital.
At least, that's what can be deduced from the advice given by Dutch football legend Frank de Boer to Tottenham Hotspur's new signing Christian Eriksen.
With the young Danish attacking midfielder having recently joined the North London club for a fee of around £11 million from Ajax - the team managed by de Boer - his former coach is now tipping him for great success in the Premier League, although has warned him to keep his head down and not let the city's many amazing attractions distract him from playing football.
"London is a great city", said de Boer, which is why it's important for the 21-year-old playmaker to make an extra effort to stay focused on his game rather than spending too much time enjoying the delights of the capital.
After starring on his debut for the club on Saturday (September 14th), during which he provided the assist for Spurs' opening goal in a 2-0 win over Norwich, the Dane then scored his first goal for his new side in last night's (September 19th) win over Norwegian team Tromso in the Europa League.
Football fans can get a glimpse of Eriksen in action by buying tickets to any Tottenham home match, with the team pushing for a top four finish this season and fancied by many to do well in all competitions after splashing out on several new signings in the summer.
As well as enjoying some Premier League football on a trip to London, visitors would also be wise to take advantage of the many attractions that Eriksen himself is being advised to avoid, such as catching a musical in the West End, taking a spin on the London Eye and much more.
