Zoo Lates come to London this June

22nd May 2013

ZSL London Zoo is a tourist hotspot, being one of the world's oldest and most famous zoos and home to an impressive 17,500 creatures great and small. A day at the zoo is exceptionally good fun in pleasant weather and starting this June, grown-up animal lovers will have the opportunity to spend a warm summer's evening in the company of some of London's most exotic inhabitants.

Zoo Lates will take place every Friday throughout June and July, with the first happening in just over two weeks' time on June 7th. With pop-up performances, activities and refreshments, each event promises to be a real night to remember.

In addition to the animal talks enjoyed by all visitors, nighttime guests can see animal-themed improvisational comedy and cabaret, live acoustic music and even screenings of entrants to the "incredibly short film festival".

Street food will be available from a range of vendors, with a selection of bars serving the perfect beverages to complement the vibrant atmosphere.

Zoo Lates offer visitors a chance to see the attraction's new Tiger Territory exhibit, which incorporates a vast new enclosure created to house two Sumatran tigers in an authentic recreation of the Indonesian rainforest. Jae Jae and Melati belong to a critically endangered species and this is a unique opportunity to see these amazing animals hunt, climb and swim by twilight.

After-hours events will run between 6pm and 10pm, with tickets costing £25 on the door. Alternatively, interested parties can book their places online for a 40 per cent discount, paying just £15. For those looking for the complete experience, the Party Animal ticket includes fast track entrance, a drink on arrival and a free animal hat or mask.

London Zoo is located in Regent's Park, making it a short trip for those staying in central London hotels. Many visitors come by tube, arriving at the Regent's Park station, but a waterbus will also operate from Camden Lock or Little Venice and bring guests directly to the zoo's canal gate.
