Located at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Orbit Tower was one of the main landmarks of the 2012 Olympic Games. Sadly, once the games had come to an end, the tower didn’t receive too many visitors, and so a decision was made to give it a bit of a transformation into the world’s tallest and longest tunnel slide!
Offering breath-taking views of Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the park itself, the tunnel slide stands at 114.5 metres tall and provides 12 corkscrew style twists and turns on the way to the bottom.
The ride itself takes around 40 seconds, giving you some idea of the speeds that can be achieved as you whizz through the spiral tube structure, so it’s certainly not for the fainthearted!
Just remember to book your ride on the Orbit slide in advance as this is becoming a very popular attraction with couples seeking some thrills and spills during their romantic getaway.
