Best Spots For Eating And Drinking In West Hampstead

Combining the best in glamour and greenery, West Hampstead might not be the first place you think of visiting on a first-time trip to London due to its northwestern location, but it would certainly be one of the most memorable. West Hampstead has long been associated with rustic charm whilst also retaining a bustling high street and beautiful views from its historic nature reserve Hampstead Heath. It’s safe to say then, that those embarking on Montcalm COVID-19 updated tourist trips will be more than satisfied with the offerings of Hampstead.

Whether visiting with family or friends, Hampstead is very accommodating for thirstiness and hunger pangs. This is unsurprising, the long walks and hilly views of Hampstead Heath really do work up an appetite. Whether fuelling up or replenishing, this blog will outline some of the best spots for guests at the Montcalm Marble Arch Hotel London to dine and drink.

Lola’s Bakery

Lola’s Bakery is one of the most popular West Hampstead brunch spots due to its organic menu that caters to all tastes and the fact that it’s housed within a 100-year old building on West End Lane. you might not realise the latter due to the sleek modern decor of the bakery-come brunch spot, but Lola’s Bakery has a lot of depth to its pretty face.

Wired Co

Hip and easy to reach, Wired Co is located just around the corner from West Hampstead Station and offers a range of artisan brews to kick off your day. If that wasn’t enough to link you into the Wired mainframe, they also serve up brunchtime snacks and London hipster favourites like smashed avocado on toast.

Art 4 Fun

Though not technically a cafe, this art and workshop space offers a 15% discount on the next door Lola’s Bakery. Ceramics, glass blowing and T-Shirt printing will only sustain you creatively, so the discount and partnership put a fun spin on creativity, and makes an afternoon activity for all ages.

Wet Fish Cafe

You haven’t truly embarked on a getaway in London unless you’ve tasted British seafood. As an island nation, it should come as no surprise that the English capital has a great wealth of seafood restaurants and cafes. Wet Fish is the best in Hampstead and offers snacks and cafe menus in the day whilst transforming into a seafood restaurant at night.

Duke Of Hamilton

And from Wet Fish to wet lunch, the Duke of Hamilton is a traditional London boozer offering your classic fare of Sunday roasts and craft brews. The pub is still keeping basement space for the Hampstead Jazz Club, in case you’re at a loose end one winter evening.

The Holly Bush

As traditional as it gets, this three barred gem is set amidst the narrow cobbled streets of Holly Mount, harking back to centuries past. The interior, too, is a historic feast for the eyes, providing wood-clad, low ceilinged fireplaces and snugs that are perfect for a well-earned pint after a long Hampstead walk.

The Garden Gate

Whilst the pub grub and craft tap takeovers of the Garden Gate are worth it alone, the Garden Gate’s spacious pub garden is heated during the winter and is just a stone’s throw from both Hampstead Heath and the Overground station. It’s for this reason that it is such a popular spot for both tourists and locals alike.
