Here’s an overview of what great events and activities are coming to Hyde Park this August.

Discovery days – Meadow Madness

Suitable for all ages, big and little kids alike will love reconnecting with nature at one of the Meadow Madness discovery days planned at Hyde Park from 11 am to 3 pm this August.

Follow the nature trail, take part in some child-friendly arts and crafts or have a go at a sweep netting session to see which insects you can find during your visit.

For those with an artistic streak, there’s a huge meadow mural which children can help to complete and the opportunity to create their own seed animal to take home with them.

For small children who aren’t yet able to walk, there’s also a carpeted corner filled with soft animal toys and hand puppets to keep the little ones entertained.

There’s also a beautiful sundeck for adults to enjoy while the kids get involved with the wide range of nature-based activities available.

Walking Tour – Bat Walk

If you can stand to leave one of our luxury hotels in Hyde Park as the sun begins to set, then you’re in for a rare treat!

London’s bats come out to play in Hyde Park during summer, so join this guided tour and bat spotting activity where you can expect to see bat species such as common pipistrelles, soprano pipistrelles and noctules swooping through the air.

Enjoy using bat detectors that make the bat’s echo-location calls audible to the human ear and see if you can spot some other nocturnal animals such as owls and foxes during the hour-and-a-half guided walk.

Walking Tour – Peter Pan

Experience the wonder and magic that inspired one of literature’s most loved characters, Peter Pan with this fantastic walking tour where dressing up is actively encouraged!

You won’t need to walk too far in your fairy wings for this fun family activity though as our 5-star hotels in Hyde Park are close by and guaranteed to make your stay truly magical.

Learn how J.M. Barrie created the Peter Pan plays and stories and discover how Peter made his journey from Bird Island in the centre of Hyde Park’s Serpentine Lake to the shores of the Long Water where you can craft your own clay vessel.
