Top West End Shows to See Before The End of The Year

If you’re a fan of show-stopping chorus lines, toe-tapping music and the best stage talent, then you just have to visit the West End on your next visit to London.

The Montcalm Marble Arch offers an excellent base for a night out in the glittering West End, so here’s some of the best shows that you must see before the end of the year.

Seussical the Musical – Southwark Playhouse

Leaving the stage at the end of December this year, this is your last chance to enter the fantastical world of the quirky and creative Dr Seuss in this larger than life musical extravaganza.

Great for kids and adults alike, see many of your favourite Dr Seuss characters such as the Cat in the Hat in a production that discusses the power of loyalty, family and acceptance.

Many of these shows take place a little earlier in the evening, so treat the kids to a Montcalm Marble Arch Afternoon Tea before heading off to take your seats.

A Very Very Very Dark Matter – The Bridge Theatre

Fairy tales get very dark in this intriguing production that follows author Hans Christian Anderson as he weaves his exquisite and fantastic children’s tales beloved by millions from his house in Copenhagen.

But it is what dwells in the attic upstairs that is the true inspiration for his dark stories, and her existence is a well-kept secret – until now.

Available until the 29th of December 2019, you can reach the Bridge Theatre in around twenty-five minutes from the Montcalm Marble Arch.

42nd Street – Theatre Royal Drury Lane

One of Broadway’s biggest shows, you’ll need to be quick if you want to catch the toe-tapping spectacular that is 42nd Street.

Follow the journey of unknown chorus girl, Peggy Sawyer, who takes to the stage as a youngster when the previous leading lady drops out and comes back a star of the stage. Filled with laughter, great tap-dancing routines and comedy, this is a vibrant stage spectacular that’s run for almost 3,500 performances.

Why not grab a Montcalm Marble Arch afternoon tea before heading to your room to put on your glad rags for a night out to remember?

Peter Pan – Park Theatre

One of the most magical adventures to ever grace the stage, Peter Pan ends just after the New Year and has been delighting audiences throughout its sell-out season.

Let your imagination take flight as you join young Peter on an adventure packed full of pirates, fairies and crocodiles in this original adaptation of J.M Barrie’s much-loved children’s book which has been delighting children for generations.

With a star-studded cast and scenery that will transport you and your family to Neverland in an instant, this is the perfect production to see if you’re heading to London for some festive fun, so make sure you don’t miss out by booking your tickets in advance.
