5 Unmissable Sights Within 30 Mins of Marble Arch

1. Buckingham Palace

How could we forget this London mainstay? Buckingham Palace is not only one of the top tourist attractions in the city, but it’s also located within minutes of Marble Arch meaning it’s within easy reach for our guests at The Montcalm London.

The palace is the official residence of the UK’s monarch, as well as a major administrative centre for the monarchy. The palace hosts a number of key events throughout the year including the daily Changing of the Guard and is well worth a visit if you have an hour or two to spare during your time in the capital.

2. Piccadilly Circus

Another of London’s most famous sights, Piccadilly Circus is a hub of activity located close to many of our 5-Star luxury hotels in London. Built in 1819, this area is filled with not only the famous illuminated signs, but a range of fantastic places to eat or catch a show in the West End. Key sights to see in Piccadilly Circus include the Grade II listed Criterion Theatre, the London Pavilion and the Shaftesbury Memorial. The lights at Piccadilly Circus often signify the mood of the nation, and are switched off during times of national mourning.

3. The British Museum

One of the most beautiful museums in London is not too far while staying at The Montcalm London, it takes 20 minutes of travelling to reach to the British museum. The British Museum is best known for its range of archaeological and ethnographic finds but the museum is a work of architectural art all on its own thanks to a major refurbishment project in 2000. The museum holds a number of world-famous finds including the Elgin Marbles and many unique exhibits ranging between the 1^st and 7^th centuries.

4. Regents Park

With its tree-lined paths and wide open spaces, Regent’s Park is one of London’s most beautiful royal parks, as well as the home of both an open air theatre and London Zoo.  Boating enthusiasts will be particularly happy to visit Regent’s Park thanks to the park’s lane where rowing boats can be hired. The views of the city skyline are unparalleled, and there are remarkable sports facilities alongside plentiful wildlife such as over 100 different species of wild bird and a growing population of hedgehogs.

5. Savile Row

This street is known mainly for its fine men’s tailoring, but Savile Row is also a historic district. First built between 1731 and 1735, tailors began to spring up here later in the 18^th century. The area is renowned for producing bespoke creations and pioneering the modern suit. There is also plentiful Georgian architecture to admire – and all of this is located within twenty minutes of Marble Arch.
