The Best Places to See Live Rock Music in London This Month

London, as with many other things, is packed to the gills with venues for seeing the best rock music the world has to offer. Whether you want the full grandeur of a stadium show or the more down and dirty rock club experience, there’s no shortage of places to get your fix of rock and roll.

So, whether you like the classics or prefer something a little more modern, read on for some of the best live rock music London has to offer in July.

Queen and Adam Lambert – O2 Arena

Despite first coming to light in the 70s with their unique mix of stage dress, theatrics and stomping tunes, Queen are still going strong and still packing them in. Dear Freddie Mercury might be tinkling his piano in the great beyond, but the three original members of Queen and virtuoso vocalist Adam Lambert are still here and they still put on an amazing stadium show. The O2 is less than 30-minutes from your room at the Montcalm London Marble Arch, so you don’t have far to go for a great night out.

The foursome are bringing their vast catalogue of classics to the O2 Arena from the 2nd July to the 4th and the show promises to deliver a run through of their greatest hits, whilst having you up and singing ‘We are the Champions’ before you even know what’s happening.

Alanis Morisette

Known for her infectious song writing and outsider personality, Alanis Morisette will be coming to London for two dates at the Hammersmith Apollo on 7th July and 13th July. Although known for her acoustic and piano-laden hits, Ms. Morisette is also not above breaking out the electric guitar and getting loud.

She’s an amazing performer and the more intimate space of the Hammersmith Apollo – though not small by any means – will perfectly suit her blend of stagecraft and infectious melodies.

The Apollo is only 30-minutes from Montcalm London Marble Arch, so why not check in and enjoy some of the best luxury suites in London before you head out for the show? Go on, you’ve earned it.

Skids – O2 Shepard’s Bush Empire

If you were a teen in the 70s and a fan of punk and new wave, then you probably have fond memories of Skids.

Formed in Dunfermline in 1977, Skids were out touring and writing great music before most of today’s generation of rock musicians were even born. And the years of writing and performing music show on stage.

The band is currently back to its original line-up, with vocalist Richard Jobson re-joining the group in 2016. They’ll be at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 30th June, only an 18-minute Tube journey from Montcalm London Marble Arch.

Before you do hop on the Tube why not treat yourself to some of the best spa deals in London at the Montcalm? It’s a great way to relax before you head out for a night of new wave and punk music.

The band really are something to behold. Even as now older gents, they bring an energy and tenacity to the stage that many a younger band would envy. Check them out and you won’t be disappointed.
