London's Camden Town is famous across the world as the spiritual heartland of British rock n roll music, with many of the biggest stars the country has ever produced having made their names performing in bars and pubs here.
If it's live music you're after, you'll find it in Camden just about any night of the week, although to see the place really come alive, get yourself a ticket to the famous Camden Crawl.
Having previously taken place during the early May Bank Holiday weekend, the event has now been moved to the height of summer, and will be held on June 20th and 21st.
One of the most exciting and hotly anticipated events on the British musical calendar, this unique festival sees acts from around the world head to Camden Town to play a series of gigs in the many famous bars, pubs and clubs that can be found in the area.
While the full line-up for this year's Crawl is yet to be announced, potential visitors can rest assured that organisers have a reputation for attracting some of the biggest stars in rock music, with the likes of Lou Reed, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and a host of other massive names having headlined the festival in the past.
Early bird tickets for this incredible musical extravaganza are now on sale, with one and two-day wristbands available.
Camden Town is just a short tube ride away from the Montcalm Hotel, and is on the Northern Line of the London Underground.
Among the venues to be taking part in the Crawl are the likes of the Hawley Arms, the Dublin Castle, Barfly and the Camden Lock – all of which have strong ties to British rock music – while it's not uncommon for impromptu performances to take place in the street during the festival.
As per tradition, the world-renowned Roundhouse – which can be found next to Chalk Farm Tube station – will host the headline acts.
