London’s Museum of Childhood is planning a whole host of festive events this year to help families staying in Montcalm london hotels.
The popular museum, which is part of the V&A, is based in Bethnal Green and is putting on a number of special workshops and special storytelling sessions in the run-up to the big day and into the New Year.
The events will take place on weekends throughout December and will run consistently from December 27th to January 6th (apart from New Year’s Day).
Each activity is aimed at children of all ages and last from 30 minutes to more than two hours so there should be something suitable for even the fussiest child.
“Find out how families celebrated Christmas 100 years ago! Enjoy a creative re-telling of The Nutcracker and create seasonal crackers, baubles, retro decorations and cards,” the museum’s website explained.
As well as the crafty workshops there will be special tours aimed at visiting families including one explaining how Christmas celebrations have changed over the years. The museum also has an extensive gift shop that means parents will be able to pick up some last minute presents to put in stockings or under the tree.
Entry to the museum is free of charge and it is a five minute walk from Bethnal Green London Underground station on the Central line.
Visitors should consider exploring some of the museum’s other exhibitions including one looking at Modern British Childhood exhibition. Focusing on the changes between the London Olympic Games of 1948 and 2012, the show examines the various issues that families and children have faced in the past 64 years.
