Tourists travelling to the UK will be able to purchase a wide selection of London 2012 merchandise as a major retailer opens special Olympic shops.
John Lewis has confirmed that it will open 27 new London 2012 shops within its department stores across the country and will ensure that all visitors enjoying cheap hotel deals will be able to celebrate in style this summer.
More than 3,000 London 2012 products will be showcased in the stores which include John Lewis' flagship shop on Oxford Street at the heart of London's retail hub. The central London store's Olympic space measures around 6,000 square feet and is the largest official London 2012 store in the UK.
London 2012 Organising Committee chair Seb Coe said: "These new London 2012 shops are a great opportunity for people across the UK to show their support for the London 2012 Games and for Team GB and Paralympics GB."
Peter Ruis, buying and brand director at John Lewis added: "We have seen strong sales of merchandise in our existing London 2012 shops and with the 100 days to go milestone just around the corner, excitement towards the Games is definitely building."
According to John Lewis, the top selling London 2012 related products so far heading into the Games are special London 2012 Olympic Games red Routemaster bus toys, London 2012 logo keyrings, Union Jack gymsacks and Great Britain mascot mugs.
The London 2012 Olympic Games, which are set to begin with a spectacular opening ceremony on July 25th, will feature a total of 26 different sports, which cover 39 separate disciplines. Those with tickets to the events should look to book central London hotels as soon as they can.
