If you're planning a trip to London then an evening at the theatre is something of a must, with the British capital being considered the only city in the world capable of rivalling New York in terms of the quality of its musicals and other live shows.
Among the most popular plays currently running in London is The Bodyguard, which is based on the 1992 film of the same name, starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner.
Since Houston's tragic death in 2012, her music has become even more sought after than before, and many of her greatest hits feature in the stage production of The Bodyguard.
Anyone interested in seeing this terrific show will be pleased to hear that the booking period has just been extended until August 2014, giving even more people the chance to enjoy what has been hailed as one of the greatest musicals of the decade.
The show is staged at the Adelphi Theatre on The Strand, with this top venue being close to several London Underground stations including Charing Cross and Embankment.
Among the play's all-star cast is British soul and R'n'B singer Beverley Knight MBE, winner of several MOBO Awards and former Mercury Music Prize nominee.
Knight is joined onstage by Tristan Gemmill, and performs a number of Whitney Houston's greatest hits – including I Will Always Love You, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment In Time and more – during the course of the show.
Since it opened at the Adelphi in December 2012, thousands of spectators have had the pleasure of witnessing this fantastic musical, with critics being bowled over too.
The story itself focuses on former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer (played by Gemmill), who is hired to protect Rachel Marron (Knight). What ensues is one of the greatest love stories ever seen in London's West End.
