Where to find the perfect Christmas present in London

Everyone knows that London is one of the best cities in the world for hopping, but when it comes to buying Christmas presents for friends and family it pays to know exactly where to look.

After all, wandering aimlessly up and down Oxford Street in search of the perfect gift for everyone on your list can be a pretty daunting task, as there are so many shops to browse in – not to mention people to fight your way through.

Having some sort of game plan is essential when doing your Christmas shopping in the capital, so you’ll need to do a little research before heading out onto the streets.

Christmas Gifts
For example, if you’re looking for something sparkly for that special someone, you may want to head directly to Hatton Garden, which can be found close to Chancery Lane tube station.

This is known as London’s jewellery quarter, and is the best place to go for high-quality gifts like necklaces, brooches and rings.

Other fancy boutiques can be found around Bond Street, which is just a few stops away from Chancery Lane on the Central Line, so if it’s diamonds and pearls you’re after then it’s best to stick to these two areas.

On the other hand, if you want to buy something a little quirky then you might be better off heading to one of the city’s many excellent street markets, such as the Stables Market in Camden or Spitalfields Market.

You’ll find a fantastic range of unique clothes and other gifts at both of these, although for vintage clothes you will probably be better of heading to Dalston, as this area of London is known for its off-the-wall style and stores like Beyond Retro.

Electronics, meanwhile, should be bought from Tottenham Court Road, with this famous street being lined with shops selling all manner of gadgets – such as games consoles, MP3 players, televisions and more – for excellent prices.
